Snake Eyes was a bad ass
GI Joe is one of if not the most popular toy when I was growing up among other people. So with that being said I was very excited about going in to see this movie. I knew it wasn’t going to be a movie based of a story, I went in knowing and thinking it was going to be nothing but non stop action and I was not dissappointed with that assumption. I have to hand it to Stephen Sommers that he didn’t try and make a story. If you go into this movie looking for something other than stuff blowing up, sword fights, gadgets, and more stuff blowing up, you won’t like it. This movie was pure action from beginning to end and will keep your attention.
Now I will admit I didn’t watch the cartoon when I was younger or read any of the comics. So I don’t know how close to the story Sommers kept the characters or if he just wrote a new story for them. The bit of back story we do get was good enough to and it wasn’t over done. I don’t think there was a 10min in this film that didn’t have some kind of explosion. I think Micheal Bay loved explosions I think he has some competition in that department now.
None of the actors in the film actually acted. Cheesy would be the best way to describe the acting in this film. None of them will win a Ocar for this film and yet I don’t think they expect to either.
Was this movie worth paying $10 to see? I would say yes only because I walked out of there entertained after 2 hours, if a movie does that I’m happy to pay that money. Now do I recommend this movie to anyone else to see in theaters? Well that is up to you, I’d say yes it is a fun movie to go see in the theaters but if you are an overly credical person this is not a movie I would recommend to go see in the theaters. You have decide which one you fall under. Will I buy this movie? Yes I will when it is on sale for $9.99.
